Life’s fleeing, time’s short, memories endure.

When I embarked on the journey of founding Rothwell Private Travel, my initial focus was on crafting unforgettable honeymoons and couples’ adventures. As time unfolded, my passion for creating remarkable getaways evolved, encompassing a diverse range of travel experiences for my clients. This expansion wasn't merely a business endeavour; it was deeply personal. Starting a family of my own provided a profound learning curve, as I came to understand the myriad details and considerations parents must account for when planning family holidays. This insight allowed me to infuse a touch of magic into every journey I curate, ensuring that even the tiniest travellers' hearts are captivated by the enchantment of the destinations we explore. It’s about more than just travel; it’s about creating meaningful memories and embracing the extraordinary, no matter where we are.

In my over-a-decade-long journey in the travel industry, I've been fortunate to explore extraordinary places worldwide, briefly calling Cape Town my home. This nurtured a deep love of Africa and an insatiable craving for immersive travel experiences that go beyond fleeting visits, allowing you to fully embrace and embody your destination.

I firmly believe that travel and the cherished memories it yields are beyond measure. At Rothwell Private Travel, I curate priceless, lifelong experiences. Leveraging an extensive network, strong partnerships with hotels, lodges, guides, and industry leaders, and a deep understanding of my clients' desires, I ensure every adventure is unforgettable and tailor-made.

My Approach

Having your own personal travel designer can be a new experience for many people. This is what you can expect when you work with me:

Step 1: An initial in-person or virtual free consultation, during which I take the time to connect with you on a personal level, aiming to unveil your unique definition of "extraordinary."

Step 2: I'll create a bespoke itinerary for you, filled with imaginative experiences, secret gems, meticulously arranged travel details (including flight options), and personalised touches.

Step 3: After you’ve reviewed your itinerary we'll reconvene to fine-tune any changes and explore fresh ideas, ensuring your journey becomes the perfect dream trip for you and your fellow travellers.

Step 4: Once you’re happy with every detail and we’ve taken payment to confirm your booking, you can then leave all the logistics to me. You’ll be provided guidance on entry requirements, packing suggestions, advice on local customs and recommendations. I’ll then send you a final travel itinerary prior to departure. All that's left is to eagerly anticipate your holiday!

frequently asked questions

  • Anywhere (within reason)! Whilst I have my own personal favourite destinations I couldn’t understand more how personal travel is to each individual. And, as a result, I've built strong connections with local experts worldwide during my own journeys. These relationships ensure that you're in expert hands on the ground wherever you go.

  • Yes absolutely. Rothwell Rose Private Travel sell flights ex UK as part of a package through our ATOL bonding (7514) and internationally under our IATA licence (91-2 0005 6). For flights originating outside the UK, there is a 10% booking fee. If you would prefer manage your own flights, please note that you will be responsible for any changes or cancellations.

  • While I don't provide travel insurance directly, I can steer you towards reliable suppliers and strongly advise securing insurance before confirming your travel plans.

  • 360 Private Travel has bank accounts in multiple currencies and you can pay by bank transfer or credit card. To avoid FX fluctuations, I can confirm the total cost at the time of booking the exchange rate will be locked in at the time of booking, or if it is just a hotel booking and you wish to pay the hotel directly I can facilitate this and you will be subject to their exchange rate at the time of travel.

  • Not at all. It really completely depends on what you’re looking for and when. Typically a bespoke immersive itinerary starts at around £1,000, including of accommodation, experiences and guiding. However I also can help you book short mini-breaks that could be just a quick getaway to a countryside hotel where you’re spending around £200 per night.

  • I am not just another anonymous online travel agency where you input your credit card information on a website or entrust it to someone you don't know. My approach is highly personalised, and I take great pride in that fact. My business is small and independent, and I invest time in researching offers to ensure they are not only the perfect fit for you but also financially secure.

My service is akin to having a personal concierge available to you 24/7. I am dedicated to taking care of your needs and concerns, and I don't simply take your payment and leave you to figure things out on your own.

  • If I am making a straightforward hotel booking on your behalf and you are paying the hotel directly then yes certainly.

If I am creating a tailor-made itinerary for you then I’m afraid not. The rates I get from my suppliers are confidential as they are better than any rates offered to the ‘public’. I can certainly give you an indication of where costs lie but cannot give you specific breakdowns that would disclose the discounted rates I get from my suppliers.

  • Yes I can take payment by Amex or any other debit or credit card. Or ig you prefer I can send you an invoice to be paid by bank transfer. I’m afraid we cannot accept cheques.

  • It depends…

An initial consultation is always complimentary.

For hotel only bookings or bookings costing less than £10,000 per person there is no planning fee.

For lengthy itineraries that are likely to be particularly complex or cost more than £10,000 per person I charge a £500 consultancy fee to begin planning. This fee ensures my continuous support throughout the booking stages and while you're on your journey.

I don’t offer pre-made travel itineraries and do not promote a fixed selection of hotels. Instead, I craft each itinerary from the ground up, tailored specifically to your preferences, a process that requires time and consideration. Think of me more as a travel consultant rather than a conventional travel agent. This approach mirrors the way financial advisors or architects operate. Essentially, what you're paying for is my expertise, knowledge, level of service, and my extensive network within the luxury travel industry. Creating custom, personalised experiences as I've described requires time, and I'm dedicated to investing that time for you. The fee structure allows me to work with a smaller clientele, ensuring I'm readily available to provide a heightened level of attention and service around the clock.

  • Rothwell Rose Private Travel is fully bonded by 360 Private Travel to sell flights and packages under our ATOL licence which means your money is 100% safe with us. Making your deposit payment towards the confirmed booking signifies acceptance of our Terms & Conditions.

One of the many benefits of using an ATOL bonded advisor like me is that all elements of your holiday are protected. We hold an ATOL (Air Tour Operator’s Licence) and by placing the booking for as much of your trip as possible with me, where an invoice is issued to cover the entire cost of the trip with one total price for your holiday, you have complete protection – no “ifs or buts”.

  • In an effort to be environmentally conscious, I try to stay paper-free where possible. I’ll create an interactive online itinerary for you, that aims to spark your excitement for the upcoming holiday. We’ll be able to communicate via a messaging system on your itinerary, or by Whatsapp, email or phone if you would prefer.
